Workshop Description

Join us for an in-depth, interactive training on Attachment-Based Suicide Assessment and Treatment, designed specifically for mental health professionals seeking to enhance their skills in working with suicidal clients through an attachment-focused lens.  

 

This live online workshop, featuring EFT Trainer Rachel Thomas from the Arizona EFT Community, will explore how attachment science and attachment based models of counseling such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), offer principles and interventions that can deepen our understanding of suicide risk, assessment, and intervention strategies.  

 

Participants will gain practical tools to assess risk factors, work with emotional distress, and foster secure connections that can provide a life-saving foundation for at-risk clients.

By Participating in this Training participants will:

 Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the Attachment Lens on Suicide – Explain how attachment theory informs the understanding of suicidal ideation and behaviors in clinical practice.  

2. Enhance Suicide Risk Assessment Skills – Identify key attachment-related risk factors and warning signs using an attachment-focused assessment framework.  

3. Apply EFT-Based Interventions– Utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy strategies to help clients navigate intense emotional distress, increase secure connection, and reduce suicide risk.  

4. Develop a Safe & Effective Treatment Plan – Integrate attachment-based interventions into a comprehensive treatment approach for suicidal clients, considering ethical and clinical best practices.  

 

CE's approved by: NV State Board of Examiners for MFT/CPC, Social Work, Psychology, and are accepted in reciprocity by most State Boards (including CA BBS).
